Description
Experience a special concert of music, sacred chants, and meditation presented by Ligmincha International; Ligmincha Texas; and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
Ligmincha International is a worldwide network of centers and sanghas founded by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, whose mission is to bring ancient teachings to modern lives. “Artistic expression—indeed, any human activity, no matter what form it takes—that arises from the source is considered sacred,” he writes. “In my tradition this is referred to as trinlé, or enlightened action.” Expression in any voice or form that emerges from this core has the power to heal and to benefit others.
Inspiring the audience to experience well-being, peace, and joy through the sounds of Eastern music from the Himalayas are Raman Maharjan, a Bansuri flute artist from Nepal; and Tsering Wangmo, a Tibetan performing artist and master singer who performs music created by Rinpoche. Alejandro Chaoul leads a meditative practice of stillness, silence, and spaciousness. Geshe Thupten Negi and Lama Kalsang Nyima perform a sacred dance from the Bön tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
This is a benefit concert for Tibetan children at Menri Monastery in India and for refugee children in India and Nepal.
Everyone is welcome to come and experience the transformative power of music, sound, and community. Reserve your seat in advance! Get tickets below.
