Tibetan Bön Chöd Practice with Geshe Denma: Dissolving Fear through Sound

(Nightly 8:30pm-9:30pm)

Chöd is a traditional Tibetan way of removing emotional conflicts and dissatisfaction by compassionately disconnecting the fear and attachment that obscure your true nature of mind. Geshe Denma practices Bön Chöd to face fear and to cut through the root causes of suffering: the three poisons of aversion, attachment, and ignorance. Through practicing Chöd, your body engages internally with drum and bell, your speech engages energetically with beautiful singing and chanting, and your mind engages with visualization. The whole practice envelopes and evokes deep connections within the practitioner. Cutting through fear in whatever form, allows us to open and release into joyful creativity allowing the possibility to connect with the true nature of mind: Open, Awake, and Fearless.

All are welcome to join nightly when you can.

Sherab Chamma Practice

(2nd Monday of the month 7:00pm-8:30pm)

In many cultures the primordial female energy is seen as the origin of existence and the source of wisdom, love, and compassion. The ancient Bön Buddhist tradition offers many methods for retrieving and connecting with this divine feminine energy, supporting the practitioner to abide in innate wisdom with the love and compassion that radiate from that wisdom. The teachings of Sherab Chamma (Mother of Wisdom and Love) comprise one of the most important tantric cycles of Bön.Sherab Chama

In this practice, participants will learn a beautiful and simple meditation practice composed by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche through which to connect with the sacred feminine in her peaceful form. Within the support of the group, we create an environment to promote profound healing of our physical, energetic/emotional, and spiritual dimensions. With visualization, the sound of mantra, and deep contemplation, we make a personal connection to the universal mother, Sherab Chamma, and are guided through this connection to our innate wisdom and the love and compassion that naturally radiate from that wisdom.

Chamma meditation practice is held the second Monday of every month at 7:00 and is led by Sangha member, Jackie Cole. There will be instruction, practice and time for questions and discussion. The practice is open to all levels of practitioner. There is no fee but donations to the Ligmincha Texas Center are greatly appreciated.
