SUMMARY:Opening the Door to Bön - the Warrior Syllables
DESCRIPTION:The Five Warrior Syllables (Tibetan Sound Healing) \n \n \n	\nThe sacred sounds of the Five Warrior Syllables are a part of the Bön healing tradition and have been handed down from master to student for generations. In recent years\, these ancient practices have been brought to life in the west through the tireless teaching and writing of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche\, author of Tibetan Sound Healing. The Five Warrior Syllables Practice engages the power of sound and silence to help heal physical illness\, clear psychological and energetic disturbances\, and support the spiritual practitioner to abide with clear and open awareness. \nIn our Sunday practice session\, led by Leslie Abuso\, we will spend time with all five syllables. There will be instruction\, practice and time for questions and discussion. The practice is open to all levels of practitioner. There is no fee but donations to the Ligmincha Texas Center are greatly appreciated. \n“The practice of the Five Warrior Syllables is a skillful means that can support us to release our negative and limiting behavioral patterns of body\, speech and mind.” (from “Tibetan Sound Healing” Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.) \nThere is no need to register but it is helpful if you RSVP to Leslie at 713-444-3457. \nThere is a bookstore onsite and this book is available for purchase.

DESCRIPTION:Description \n \n \n	\nExperience a special concert of music\, sacred chants\, and meditation presented by Ligmincha International; Ligmincha Texas; and the Museum of Fine Arts\, Houston. \nLigmincha International is a worldwide network of centers and sanghas founded by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche\, whose mission is to bring ancient teachings to modern lives. “Artistic expression—indeed\, any human activity\, no matter what form it takes—that arises from the source is considered sacred\,” he writes. “In my tradition this is referred to as trinlé\, or enlightened action.” Expression in any voice or form that emerges from this core has the power to heal and to benefit others. \nInspiring the audience to experience well-being\, peace\, and joy through the sounds of Eastern music from the Himalayas are Raman Maharjan\, a Bansuri flute artist from Nepal; and Tsering Wangmo\, a Tibetan performing artist and master singer who performs music created by Rinpoche. Alejandro Chaoul leads a meditative practice of stillness\, silence\, and spaciousness. Geshe Thupten Negi and Lama Kalsang Nyima perform a sacred dance from the Bön tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. \nThis is a benefit concert for Tibetan children at Menri Monastery in India and for refugee children in India and Nepal. \nEveryone is welcome to come and experience the transformative power of music\, sound\, and community.
