SUMMARY:Opening the Door to Bön - The 9 Breathings of Purification
DESCRIPTION:Practice Description \n \n \n	\n\n\nThis Sunday\, we will explore the practice of the Nine Breathings of Purification. \nThe View of the wisdom tradition of Bön Buddhism is that the nature of our mind is clear and open\, like a cloudless dessert sky. What causes our suffering\, is our disconnection from our true nature. The practice of these cleansing breaths\, help us to clear what obscures our recognition of our true nature. \nThere is no fee for this session but a suggested donation of $10 to the Center is gratefully appreciated. \n\n\n \n \n \n Contract Information \n \n \n	\n\n Leslie Abuso \n \n \n \n leslieabuso@ligminchatexas.org

SUMMARY:Spontaneous Creativity: Meditations for Manifesting Your Positive Qualities - Friday Talk
DESCRIPTION:Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche will return to the Asia Society on January 25th\, 2019\, from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm. The Retreat will continue at the Jung Center Houston on Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. \nThe topic of this year’s talk is based on Rinpoche’s newest book\, Spontaneous Creativity: Meditations for Manifesting Your Positive Qualities\, published in 2018. As Rinpoche has said: \nCreativity can be seen as a state of natural flow\, one that spontaneously and effortlessly gives birth not only to manifest form\, but to all experiences of body\, energy and mind. This state of flow\, which has its roots in openness\, occurs only in the absence of hope and fear. It is at once naturally joyful\, peaceful\, compassionate\, expansive and powerful. When you know how to tap fully into this open\, creative flow\, its beneficial qualities can extend to any area of your life. \nDuring Friday night’s lecture\, Rinpoche will introduce the topic and provide a short instruction and meditation practice. \nOn Saturday and Sunday at the Jung Center Houston\, Rinpoche will deepen his discussion and and offer more extensive guided meditation practices to help participants recognize and clear physical\, energetic\, and mental obstacles that can block creative flow\, helping you to connect with and trust in your innate creative potential and to discover the inner strength and confidence that can allow creativity to naturally blossom.\n \n \n \n \nGeshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche \n \n \n	\n \nGeshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche\, founder and spiritual director of Ligmincha International\, is an acclaimed author as well as a highly respected and beloved teacher to students throughout the United States\, Mexico and Europe. Fluent in English\, Tenzin Rinpoche is renowned for his depth of wisdom; his clear\, engaging teaching style; and his ability to make the ancient Tibetan teachings highly accessible and relevant to the lives of Westerners.\n\n\n \n Click here to visit the Asia Society Houston website\nPricing at the Asia Society Friday Night Public Talk:\n$25 for non-members\n$15 for members of the Asia Society

SUMMARY:Losar Celebration - The Year of the Earth Pig
DESCRIPTION:Practice Description \n \n \n	\nSaturday\, Feb. 9\, 2019 – 10:30 am at the Center — Losar celebration. We will use Tibetan traditions to greet the new year. Each person will light a candle on the altar and we will pray together. Geshe Denma will do the Chemar ritual\, a traditional auspicious ceremony using roasted barley flour (called tsampa) mixed with butter. One person will hold a traditional container of tsampa and butter so each person can take a pinch\, offer it lightly three times\, touch it to the tongue\, and then say the traditional auspicious happiness greeting – \nTashi Delek Phunsum Tsok\, Ama Bakdro Kukham Sang \nTendu Dewa Thobpar Shog\, Gongni Gongdu Phelwar Shog \nThe meaning in English is: Auspicious goodness and abundance to you\, may you be healthy and peaceful\, may you find eternal peace and happiness\, and may your pursuit of peace and happiness flourish day by day. \nAccording to the lunar calendar\, the actual date of Losar is February 5\, 2019\, and you may wish to recognize that day even though we will be celebrating on the 9th so more people can attend. Following the ceremony\, we will all go to lunch to continue the happy gathering for an auspicious start to the new year.

SUMMARY:Opening the Door to Bön - Tsa Lung (Tibetan Yoga)
DESCRIPTION:Practice Description \n \n \n	\n\nWith the Bon Buddhist practices of Tsa Lung\, we explore the five Tsa Lung movements. In this practice we will deepen our inner connection by exploring the 5 five energy centers (chakras) with the movements of Tsa Lung. Tsa means channel and lung (chi or prana) means breath. These movements along with the visualization that accompanies them help us to clear what keeps us from recognizing and connecting to the positive qualities inherent in our true nature.\n\n\nThis practice is led by Leslie Abuso. For more information\, contact her at: leslieabuso@ligminchatexas.org.\n\nDoors open at 11:00 am. There is no fee but donations to the center are greatly appreciated.

SUMMARY:The Six Bardos and the Nature of Mind
DESCRIPTION:The Six Bardos and the Nature of Mind\nMenri Shedrup Khenpo Geshe Nyima Dhondup Rinpoche\nThe Bardo is a Tibetan Buddhist concept roughly translated as “thrown between.” Also called the Intermediate State\, the Bardo arises between death and the next life.  It is said to be much like dream\, sleep\, and deep meditative states\, when the edges of our reality blur\, and forms\, images\, sounds\, our sense of ourselves and duality diminish\, yet presence remains.\nThe Bardo presents both a challenge to ordinary consciousness and an opening to the possibility of enlightenment. \nKhenpo Nyima Dhondup Rinpoche will explore the Bardo with us. This weekend offers an opportunity to receive precious teachings from a high lama to help us prepare for this transition time. \nPublic Talk\nFriday. February 22nd 7:00pm – 8:30 pm \n$15 Suggested Donation \nWeekend Retreat\nSaturday & Sunday February 23rd & 24th 10 am – 5 pm \n$135  Early-Bird Registration thru February 18th\n  $150 Standard Registration \nLocation \n\nLigmincha Texas – 5316 Bellaire Blvd. – Bellaire TX\nRegister through the links provided above. \nFinancial hardship alone should not prevent a practitioner from attending teachings.\nSpecial payment plans are available.\nPlease contact us at info@ligminchatexas.org\n \n \n \n \nMenri Shedrup Khenpo Geshe Nyima Dhondup Rinpoche\n \n \n \n	\nMenri Shedrup Khenpo Geshe Nyima Dhondup Rinpoche is the current Abbot of the Bön Dialectic School at Menri Monastery in Dolanji\, India. After completing over 15 years of study of Bön Sutra\, Tantra\, Dzogchen and the five major and minor sciences of Bön tradition\, Nyima Rinpoche received his Geshe Degree in the spring of 2006. SUMMARY:Opening the Door to Bön - the Warrior Syllables
DESCRIPTION:The Five Warrior Syllables (Tibetan Sound Healing) \n \n \n	\nThe sacred sounds of the Five Warrior Syllables are a part of the Bön healing tradition and have been handed down from master to student for generations. In recent years\, these ancient practices have been brought to life in the west through the tireless teaching and writing of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche\, author of Tibetan Sound Healing. The Five Warrior Syllables Practice engages the power of sound and silence to help heal physical illness\, clear psychological and energetic disturbances\, and support the spiritual practitioner to abide with clear and open awareness. \nIn our Sunday practice session\, led by Leslie Abuso\, we will spend time with all five syllables. There will be instruction\, practice and time for questions and discussion. The practice is open to all levels of practitioner. There is no fee but donations to the Ligmincha Texas Center are greatly appreciated. \n“The practice of the Five Warrior Syllables is a skillful means that can support us to release our negative and limiting behavioral patterns of body\, speech and mind.” (from “Tibetan Sound Healing” Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.) \nThere is no need to register but it is helpful if you RSVP to Leslie at 713-444-3457. \nThere is a bookstore onsite and this book is available for purchase.
