SUMMARY:Awakening your subtle body through breath\, movements and sounds
DESCRIPTION:Wake up your subtle body through breath\, simple visualizations\, sounds\, and Tibetan yogic movements. \nThis experiential weekend workshop explores how the potential of your subtle body or sacred anatomy – composed of inner channels and chakras – can be a powerful doorway into the open awareness of our inner refuge or “inner home.” \nAs you become more familiar with your five chakras\, we will practice with the five wisdom breath-energies and the five seed ‘warrior’ syllables\, to foster the opportunity to open yourself to the vibrant awareness of your sacred body. \nThrough practices of breath and gentle movements\, we will explore how our channels and chakras support us in connecting to the spaciousness of our inner refuge. \nAnd as we add the five healing sounds\, we will awaken the vibration and energy in each chakra\, that enhances our awareness and healing qualities. \nSATURDAY\, Sept 12\, 2020\n9-10:15am Session 1\n10:45-noon Session 2 \nLUNCH \n1:00-2:15 Session 3\n2:45-4:00 Session 4 \nSUNDAY\, Sept. 13\, 2020\n9-10:15 am Session 1\n10:45-noon Session 2 \nCentral Daylight Time \nPlease register by Thursday\, September 10th\, so that we have time to get the handouts sent to you email for weekend retreat. \nBased on financial ability\, registrants can choose the following options: $75\, $100 and $125. \nFinancial hardship should not prevent a practitioner from attending teachings. SUMMARY:The Lightning Flash of the Dzögchen View
DESCRIPTION:Recognizing the Nine Intermediate States of the Bardo\nSaturday\, October 31\, 2020 – Sunday\, November 1\, 2020\nGeshe Denma will teach us on the rarely taught text dzögchen tawa tok bap on the nine Bardos. Bardo teachings provide guidance on the stages of dying so we can transition with peace and consequently live with joy. \nThe Bardo is a Tibetan Buddhist concept roughly translated as “thrown between”. One of the Bardos arises between death and the next life. It is said to be much like dream (another form of Bardo)\, sleep\, and deep meditative states when the edges of reality blur. Fear of the unknown and our attachment to people and possessions can result in difficulties at the moment of death or even in the thought of death. Bardo teachings create an opportunity to learn more about how to prepare for death by seeing it as a natural process within the cycle of life. \nJoin us for a weekend with Geshe Denma Gyaltsen\, who will gently continue to explain how we can understand this transition from a Bön Buddhist perspective. \nRetreat teachings and practices will be taught in English. Live translation is available in Spanish\, Portuguese\, Polish and Russian.\n \n \n \n \nRetreat Schedule\n \n \n \n	\nSATURDAY\, October 31\, 2020\nCentral Daylight Time CDT \nSession 1 10:00 – 11:15 am\nSession 2 11:30 – 12:30 pm\nMeal Break\nSession 3 1:30 – 3:00 pm \nSUNDAY\, November 1\, 2020\n***Note CHANGE to Central Standard Time CST*** \nSession 1 10:00 – 11:15 am\nSession 2 11:30 – 12:30 pm\nMeal Break\nSession 3 1:30 – 3:00 pm \nhttps://www.timeanddate.com/\n \n \n \n \nRegistration \n \n \n	\nRegistration is a 2 step process.  You must complete both steps. \n\nComplete payment through PayPal by clicking this button.  IMPORTANT:  After payment is completed\, wait until you are brought back to the Ligmincha Texas website.\nComplete Zoom registration on the page you are returned to after you complete payment.  Once you are registered\, a confirmation email will be sent to you by Zoom that includes your personal link to join the retreat.\n\nMake sure to pay and complete your Zoom registration by Thursday\, October 29th so we can assure that you receive the practice materials and schedule before the retreat. \nDownload the free Zoom app in advance of the retreat by going to https://zoom.us/download. \nRetreat teachings and practices will be taught in English. He arrived in Houston in January 2016 to serve as Ligmincha Texas’s first resident lama. \nGeshe Denma was born in northern Nepal. His father brought him to Menri Monastery\, India\, regarded as the mother Bon monastery in exile\, in 1981 to begin his program of study toward the Geshe degree. He received all the Bon teachings\, initiations and transmissions in sutra\, tantra and dzogchen from His Holiness Lungtok Tenpai Nyima Rinpoche\, the 33rd Menri Trizin\, and His Eminence Yongdzin Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche. \nWhen he became a senior student\, he was asked to teach philosophy to younger students. He successfully completed this degree program in 1996 and was awarded the Geshe certificate\, which is considered equivalent to a Ph.D. in Bön Buddhist philosophy and religion. \nGeshe Denma was an accomplished teacher and in 1998 was appointed\, with the approval of the Tibetan government in exile\, first abbot of Zhu Rishing Yungdrung Kundak-Ling Monastery\, a Bon Monastery in Sikkim\, India by His Holiness. He served two terms in this capacity until 2003. In addition\, from the time he graduated until 2008\, Geshe Denma also was active in assisting Geshe Nyima Dakpa with the Bon Children’s Home\, which houses many children in Dolanji\, India\, providing them with food\, healthcare and free education.
