Losar, Tibetan new year, is celebrated widely by Tibetans and Tibetan Bön and Buddhist centers throughout the world.

Wednesday, February 22, 6:30 PM – Ransom ceremony.This is a good opportunity to cleanse ourselves spiritually, to be ready for the New Year. At Ligmincha Texas Center.
Saturday, February 25, 10:00 AM – Losar celebration, and planting the Bodhi Tree. Geshela advises us to say only positive things all this day and not to engage in any negativity in body, speech or mind. Following the celebration, we will all have lunch together. At Ligmincha Texas Center.
Monday, February 27, 2017 – First day of Losar. On this day, it is traditional to perform the Sang Cho (fire ritual) at home in the morning, or any other practice that you have received. This is day to hang new prayer flags at home (you can buy them at the center in advance).
Saturday, March 4, 9:30 AM – Live webcast message from Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and Ligmincha resident lamas worldwide. At Ligmincha Texas Center.
Sunday, March 5, 10:30 AM – Birthday celebration of Nyame Sherap Gyaltsen, first abbot and founder of the first Bon monastery in Tibet. We will perform a Sangcho (fire ceremony). We will go to Galveston to the house of one of our members. If you plan to join us, please email us for directions.
